Safe positions to have sex during pregnancy

You don’t need to avoid sex during pregnancy. If you do it safely, you can avoid complications. Men think that pregnant women feel less sexual desire and avoid having sex with the pregnant wives. But it is an irony to say that sex is important during pregnancy too.

Sex during pregnancy is safe provided you adopt safe positions that does not put pressure on the growing fetus. You need to adopt positions from where you can control your movements during sex.

Here are some good positions to adopt if you want to have sex during pregnancy.

Woman on top of man

Make sure your husband agrees to this! If you were overweight already before pregnancy you can avoid it. But if you are of a manageable weight, you can bet this is safest and most pleasurable of positions.

Lie on your back and bend your knees

This is another safe position. You lie on your back, and bend your knees towards your chest. Don’t put your legs down. Keep it to your chest. During sex, the movement of your body will be absorbed by your bent knees, and this will not affect your stomach.

Sideways

Lie sideways. Your partner should face your back.

Doggy style

This is a favorite erotic position. You and your partner adopt a sexual position that dogs do when having sex. You need to be on all fours. Get a pillow to support your abdomen and chest. Your partner should penetrate you from the rear. This is an exciting position, and is highly-recommended in any stage of pregnancy.

You have found out the exciting news that you are going to have a baby. The next nine months, your body will be growing a little human being inside. Many changes are in store for you and it is important that you take care of yourself and that little baby.

You can view your progress on a calendar pregnancy site and see how your little one is changing and growing week by week. It is necessary during this time to take a few steps to ensure that you and baby stay healthy.

  • Eat healthy: Stay away from processed foods and artificial sweeteners. Instead, eat a well-balanced diet full of fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean meat.
  • No alcohol: Alcohol can cause abnormalities in your baby. Alcohol could cause a miscarriage or stillbirth, also.
  • No caffeine: This includes coffee, soda and caffeinated tea. Caffeine could cause a miscarriage. It has also been known to raise the mother’s blood pressure and could affect the baby negatively.
  • Calcium: This is a must. Most women do not get enough calcium. Find it in dry beans, nuts, dark leafy veggies and low-fat dairy.
  • Folic Acid: This aids in the development of your baby’s brain and spinal cord. Most doctors will give this to you in supplemental form.
  • Exercise: It is important to stay fit while pregnant. Try to get at least two hours of exercise a week.
  • No smoking: Nicotine is dangerous for your baby and can lead to low birth weight and defects.

Take care of yourself during this time to ensure you will have a healthy baby.
